MONCTON NB: ATLANTIC SLAM are pleased to introduce the broadcast crew for

this years NCAA D1 tournament to be held November 17,18, 19 at the Avenir

Center in Moncton NB. Canada, to be viewed on ESPN+

Rod Black – Host / Play by Play - Rod Black’s knowledge, versatility, and

enthusiasm have earned him a reputation as one of Canada’s most recognized

and distinguished sportscasters. He is a consummate professional who displays

passion and excitement in all that he does. In his 40 years as a sports journalist,

Rod has been involved with a variety of different events and competitions, fitting

into each role with ease.



Rod’s extensive sports resume includes play-by-play, as well as hosting duties

for golf, the NBA, international hockey and the CFL.


Brandon Johnson - Analyst: With 31 years of experience and knowledge ranging

from grassroots to professional basketball, Coach Johnson has coached, trained,

and worked with student-athletes and professionals across the globe, making

him an exceptional College Basketball Game Analyst. In his first season as an

analyst, Coach Johnson broadcasted games to include ESPN+, ASUN

Tournament & Championship games, and a NCAA Tournament First-Round game.


His extensive coaching experience at the DivisionI level includes stints in the

SEC, OVC, ASUN, and Southland conferences. He has had broad

training/clinician experience through affiliations such as John Lucas Enterprises,

Pete Newell Big Man Camp, Athletes In Action, and Giants of Africa (the latter

working alongside Raptors GM, Masai Ujiri). A few notable players Coach

Johnson coached over the years are Robert Covington, CJ McCollum, Jabari

Smith, Sr., and Toney Douglas. As well, he has trained many youths who went on

to become McDonald’s All-Americans, NCAA All-Americans, USA Basketball

medalists, and NBA players as Jalen Brunson, Kelly Oubre, Justice Winslow, and

Jarrett Allen.


Katerina Biancardi – will round out the Atlantic Slam’s broadcast team. Katerina

is starting her second season as a sideline reporter for ESPN + college

basketball. Her coverage includes conferences such as the Big South and ASUN.

She begins her third season within Queens Athletics as a Strategic

Communications Specialist and in-house broadcaster for the Queens Sports

Network. Prior to her time in the Queen City, her career has included two stints at

the Spring league as a Digital Content Creator (2020) and a sideline reporter

(2018). The sideline reporting told the story of Johnny Manizel’s return to

professional football, aired on Bleacher Report’s first ever live digital broadcast.

Biancardi is a 2018 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she

majored in broadcast journalism. While in school, she interned as a production

assistant with the Longhorn Network, where supported broadcast preparations

including editing studio highlights, content production, and social media live

event coverage.
